Enjoy a family weekend at the New York YMCA Camp.
Is your family looking for a great way to spend the last weekend of summer? Join us for a fun-filled weekend of crafts, games, activities and programs for all ages at our annual Summer Family Camp.
Stay at Talcott Village, for 3 nights, in an eight-bed (four-bunk) renovated cabin with your family and, if you choose, your friends. The cabins are enclosed and have screens, shutters and electricity. Bathroom facilities with private hot showers are nearby.
We schedule many activities that are age specific and emphasize individual or family participation. Join in, or just take it easy and soak up the sun.
Choose from many sports and crafts or come down to the lake for a swim or to go boating, sailing, waterskiing or wakeboarding. Try the climbing tower and high ropes course. Enjoy interpretive nature hikes, horseback riding, and fishing. Plus… special events, like campfires, a dance, and a family barbecue.

Weekend Meals
Camp's food service is in the forefront of the YMCA's Activate America initiatives. We support a healthy lifestyle in the foods we serve. We offer fresh fruits in our breakfast bar to include fresh strawberries, blueberries (when in season), cantaloupe, and honeydew along with canned fruits. In addition, we offer fresh vegetables on our salad bars for lunch and dinner and a vegetarian option to create a well balanced diet.
Over the past two years we have been reducing the fat and sugar in our menu while providing meals that guests will enjoy. Our pastas are now made with whole wheat. All oil is zero trans fat oil. We use lean meat in our menu items like ground turkey and turkey hot dogs. We are currently moving away from items like Danish and donuts, which have high fructose corn syrup, to homemade items like banana and pumpkin breads and a variety of muffins made with whole-wheat flour.
We can accommodate dietary needs to include vegetarians and guests with food-borne allergies. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at ssumnick@ymcanyc.org.
Sincerely,
Steve Sumnick
Food Service Director
