Greenkill Outdoor Education Center
Greenkill’s outdoor and environmental education programs are designed to encourage an understanding of our natural surroundings through guided discovery, hands on experience, and independent thinking while adhering to New York State education standards.
Courses are adapted to the ages and learning levels of the students in this interdisciplinary approach to outdoor and environmental education. Our philosophy is centered around the belief that students must increase their knowledge of the natural sciences firsthand in order to build a greater appreciation of their environment and to better understand the impact humans have on it.
Our classes are intended to be useful tools for teachers to use as an extension or as a complement to the traditional in-school curriculum. Our classes can be easily tailored to meet specific needs of teachers and students.
