Today was our final day of 2010. Fine weather made the movement of camper luggage a piece of cake – after of course our campers had packed it all up. This may sound simple – but girls who have been in camp for three and four weeks have an enormous amount of clothing and “stuff” – it all did manage to get bagged and tagged and then make it home!
Our day was filled with tournament play, players signing volleyballs, exchanging emails and reminding friends about their facebook pages. Hugs for parents, hugs and tears as new found friends prepared to depart, awards and recognition for outstanding players. Many promises of “I’ll be back” or “see you next year” and “see you at club” were heard throughout the field house.
When most of the campers had departed, our staff got down to work getting the field house ready for Judo camp which starts on Sunday. All the ball carts were folded up, volleyballs packed away, nets taken down and stored, volleyball standards set into their holder, bulletin boards cleared… the field house was very quiet. The joyful shouts of “mine mine”, “I’ve got it”, or shouts of elation from a successful play are all memories now of another successful summer.
Campers – keep us posted on what is happening with you – share your news and we will share it here! Mark your calendars now for camp next summer – we can’t wait for you to come back!
